Dance Masters has good music for those of us who are into Eurobeat or Bemani style games. There are several older ParaPara songs with dances that are true to the actual routines. And there are some songs that are also on DDR, Pump It Up, or ITG (A Geisha's Dream and Kimono Princess). I wouldn't say it's the best dance game as far as design or playability, but it definately has my favorite music. If you want to dance to American pop, buy Dance Central, if you want something a little more unique, this game has great music (although a somewhat limited selection.)

Honestly I dont like this game. Probably because I think that most people who buy dance games want to listen to new music. All of these songs are 80's song if not older. I've never heard any of these songs until I played this game. Ever heard of a song called A Geisha's Dream or Night of Fire. If you're from this generation probably not. You'd be better off getting Just Dance 3 or Dance Central.

Many people have over looked this gem. This game is great fun. It is Dance dance Revolution with your whole body :P You can even dance with people online unlike Dance Central, and you dance at the same time during multiplayer also unlike Dance Central. The soundtrack is very upbeat and Japanese, which can turn people off. Especially since there is not a mode to learn the moves, which is fine, because i don't recall one being in ddr. Great buy!

Saying it's fine for this game not to have a mode to learn moves because DDR didn't is silly. DDR has four buttons your feet need to touch at a given time. That's all. This game wants you to pose and dance, comparing the two really is ignorant. Go buy Dance Central 2.

I've read other reviews and it's true--there are no tutorials and the dance moves are hard. But, it is fun if you don't take it too seriously. Though the music was written just for this game (nothing you would hear on the radio), it is hilarious to try to imitate what you see. Even my mom has gotten in on the act and we were laughing like crazy. It's cool to see yourself onscreen, also. I recommend this for anyone who wants to just have fun without needing to have the game teach you specific steps. I'm not trying to be a dance pro. . . I just want to "get my game on."

I tried this game out and did not like it at all. Dance central is better but I don't like that either compared to Just Dance on the Wii. This game here SUCKS!!! You have to learn the steps by constantly playing over and over. The moves are beyond hard and the music isn't any music you would here playing on the radio.Total disappointment by far!

I put this game on par with Dance Central. Ok, the negative thing is that you have to learn the steps as you play because it dont have a practice mode or post cards with upcoming dance steps. But you know what? Its fun either way.The music is more Dance Revolution, Japanese influence. Another thing= 2 PLAYERS PLAY AT THE SAME TIME! And is a blast that you are seeing YOURSELF AND THE SECOND PLAYER AT THE SCREEN AS YOU WERE PART OF THE DANCE STAFF!i

My husband bought me the bundle pack which includes this and Dance Central. It's interface is not very good and hard to click and accept things. I really didn't care for the way it was set up, but at least the music is good. I wish it a break down section to show you how the moves go.

This game is very fun, the only thing I would like to change is the old Dance Dance had a calorie burner section. Also some of the moves are fast, but after a couple rounds you can adapt to it. I don't think it is as user friendly as the other Dance games with the pads but It is much more fun!

Lemme start off by saying this game is not for people who can only dance to beats they know. Its full of europop hits which are catchy and fun to dance to. Think of Dance Dance revolution tracks. Its cool that you can see yourself up on the screen so its easy to tell what your doing wrong and how you can fix it. My dancing has improved from this game.
I just wish they had a break-it-down section like Dance Central

I bought Dance Central (Thank goodness!) first before buying this game. I loved Dance Central, played it non-stop and basically had every dance on lock. I tried buying new dances for it, but the selection was slim. I decided I needed to get the other dance game because it had to be as much fun, right? WRONG! As soon as I put it in and checked out all the songs I wanted to cry. There were NO songs I reconized! I mean honestly, half the songs on dance central are quite lame (Poker face, jungle boogie, down, evacuate the dance floor, etc.) but there songs I've heard and ones I can have fun with! This Dance MAsters game had no songs like that and I guess thats why I was dissppointed!

As everyone knows today was lauch day. I bought both Dance Masters from the makers of DDR and Dance Central from EHarmonix. Honestly I thought this would be the better dance title due to it being produced by a previous dance company. I found I like the graphics, poses, and step structure in Dance Master better then those in Dance Central. Only downfall was trying to learn the steps. Dance Central (not this game) offers a wonderful mode known as "Break Down" which slowly teachs you step by step the entire song. (This is because they actucally want you to be a good dancer) Where on Dance Masters they toss you into the song and say "GOOD LUCK!" While this can be fustrating it is oddly rewarding when you start picking up the moves all by yourself. PLEASE NOTE! Easy mode is extremely forgiving with body movement requiring you only to get the poses during the song, while the rest of the time not really worrying about what you are doing. So it may be the better option for those who do not want to be hard core about the dance moves, and just want to party and have fun. <--- recommended highly for those type of ppl
